Do you think you are different.
What if i tell you...
this very thought makes you "the same".
and it makes you so "same" that
if there were a religion called "i think i am different" there really would have been one god.
if there were a country called "i think i am different" there would have been no boundaries.
if there were an operating system called "i think i am different" there would have been only one set of download for any application.
Thinking yourself as different is one of the mistake we as human commonly make and at the same time thinking yourself same as other is also a mistake. Paradox is it ? ...
The origin of the hatred comes from fact that you think the ones you hate are different than you. Because you cannot hate yourself , can you...
The guy who cuts you on the road, the guy arguing illogically on the TV debate, your boss, the guy trying to cheat you on the street, if you look closely they all are not very different. Just that they had different lives. The life you are going through is what makes you. The more you understand the fact that everyone is the same , the faster you will learn to stop hating someone just because he seems different and completely opposite of you and will may be understand the reasoning behind the way he is acting(even stupid or ignorant). I think the biggest culprit is prejudice. Prejudice towards a set of people belonging to a particular region/ cast / or economic background.
Imagine you were 100% prejudice free, you would only hate that particular person individually than making an opinion about the whole community with few sample points. In the prejudice free world no amount of sample points are enough to generalize any statement and everything is about what you actual deal with, personally. That automatically decreases the number of people you hate in the world and increases the number of people you know nothing about. This gives you all the more reasons to go and experience more instead of trying to draw that polygon of hatred with few sample points. Experience more is the key to learn more about the world and make an opinion individually and not generically.Travel, they say, is the best way to create more experiences in unit time.
The other end of the spectrum also is problem when you think there is nothing different about you. Now if you see biologically no two persons are the same , not even twins. Everyone is different and special in their own way. What one can or cannot do , cannot be generalized to tell if the other person can or cannot do because all the parameters are not the same. The actor has changed which could make all the difference to the outcome of an event.
So thinking yourself the same as other and different from others at the same time, can be taken positively.
